The Advanced Level family includes AS and AL. Available in a wide range of subjects, Pearson Edexcel Advanced Levels give students the chance to develop intellectually as they explore a subject in great depth. AS and AL (sometimes called General Certificates of Education or Advanced Levels) are normally studied after level 2 in a BTEC or GCSE, but you can take them at any age. AS levels generally take one year to complete, and ALs are studied across two years. Since September 2015, AS and ALs have been decoupled in England, making AS a stand-alone qualification.
